About Don Brasher gtis

Don Brasher of GTIS (Global Trade Information Services, Inc.) is a longtime contributor to the field of international trade data research. He studied international law and economics at American University in Washington, D.C., and the University of Delaware, Don Brasher has served over 30 years in the field, working for the United States and foreign governments, as part of international trade data organizations, as a consultant, and as the founder of several data software companies, including GTIS.

Don Brasher’s GTIS started in 1993 as a company meant to help governments and companies in the international trade market understand the forces at work. The company’s software, however, quickly became popular with a broad range of consumers, including universities, trade associations, trade press, commercial shippers and ports, and a variety of others in need of international trade figures. GTIS’ top services are the Global Trade Atlas and World Trade Atlas.

GTIS’ Global Trade Atlas and World Trade Atlas are international trade data programs allowing for easy tracking of sales of a particular product across multiple countries. They also provide the inverse, easy ways to track the broad range of products moving through a particular country. Both pieces of software are based only on official trade data provided to Don Brasher’s GTIS by the countries’ respective governments. Over 80 countries have their information included in Don Brasher’s atlases, with data for most major trading countries providing information at least as far back as 1995.
